About Meeting Types
Each A.A. meeting is defined by one or more 'Types'. When selecting a meeting, take note of the meeting type so you can attend a meeting that is most appropriate for you.
All meetings are non-smoking unless marked 'Smoking'.
Closed is a meeting to be attended by alcoholics only. This may include troubled persons who are attempting to determine if they have a drinking problem and if they should become members of our fellowship.
Limited is a meeting to be attended by alcoholics who may bring members of their immediate family only, such as their spouses, sons and daughters.
Open is a meeting open to literally any person who wishes to attend. We are accustomed to seeing non-alcoholic spouses of A.A. members and other close relatives and friends at these meetings.
However, other interested persons such as social workers, clergymen, physicians, jurists, students, journalists, etc., have been known to attend open meetings and this is permissible by definition.
No designation indicates open meeting.
Use the 'Your Location' field to find all meetings within a specific radius (in miles) around your area.
1. Provide a radius center. It can be your home address, a street name, city, state and/or zip code. Provide any part of an address or a full address.
As you type a location, different options will automatically be proposed. You must select one of the proposed options in order for radius search to work.
2. Select the radius distance (maximum distance from the center) you want to search within from the drop down box. Default selection is 3 miles.
Click the 'Locate Me' icon and we will populate the 'Your Location' field based on your browser location. Primarily designed for mobile phones and devices with GPS. This will require accepting the permission prompt in the browser to allow the page to access your location data.
